Julie Laliberté is Counsel for French Interpretation Services at the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta.
A bilingual lawyer with over twenty years of experience within the courts and formal training in both civil law and common law at the Université de Sherbrooke, she plays a key role in the implementation and coordination of the Court’s language and interpretation policies, particularly in the areas of criminal law and family law.
She holds a Master of Laws degree from the Université de Montréal and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta.
She also provides legal advice to Justices and Court committees. In addition, she contributes to improving access to justice in French and serves as a speaker in Alberta and across Canada on language rights, French and bilingual proceedings, and the right to an interpreter.
