Elsy Gagné is a lawyer with the Calgary-based Family Law Associates. Her practice focuses primarily on commercial and corporate litigation, as well as women’s and human rights law.

With significant experience as a former university instructor in Canadian universities, Elsy possesses a concrete and in-depth understanding of the practical and litigation aspects of the law. Her academic background and official bilingualism undoubtedly give her a distinct advantage as a litigator, allowing her to offer her clients—mostly executives, presidents, and business leaders—rigorous, strategic, and tailored support that is perfectly suited to their needs and objectives.

In addition to her demanding work and litigation, which requires long hours at the office, Elsy also distinguishes herself through her volunteer work, pro bono work, and unwavering commitment to women’s groups nationally and internationally, immigrants, and Francophone minority communities. It is in this capacity that she is completing her 5th year in 2026 as president of the Association of French-Speaking Lawyers of Common Law in Alberta, having served on its board of directors since 2017.

Finally, Elsy has built her career on representing not only businesspeople rights but also defending and continuing to fight for linguistic rights and women’s rights, and gender equality.
