Superintendent François D’Aoust is the Chief Human Resources Officer at the Ottawa Police Service and has 28 years of experience leading organizational transformation within policing environments.
Fully bilingual, he is responsible for developing and implementing organizational strategies related to labour relations and organizational development, helping to build a modern, high-performing, and resilient organization.
He stands out for his unique combination of executive leadership in human resources and extensive operational command experience, having held senior roles in specialized operations, intelligence services, and as Executive Officer to the Chief. His career includes managing high-risk operations and supporting governance and strategic decision-making.
François also serves on the board of directors of the Roberts/Smart Centre, a non-profit organization dedicated to youth mental health. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology and sociology from the University of Ottawa.
