St. John’s (N.L.) – 2016

The Conference acknowledged that the future of the Canadian Francophonie relied on action and collaboration among governments and community actors on the local level. The adoption by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2015 of its French Language Services Policy is a reflection of this fact, while also recognizing the valuable contribution of the Francophone and Acadian communities to the development of that province. The ministers also discussed the possible establishment of a forum for federal-provincial-territorial dialogue on early childhood development.
