The government of British Columbia contributed $9.9 million to build the temporary, modular Beausoleil school for the Conseil scolaire Francophone (CSF). The Province has provided a further $1.4 million to construct and install a temporary gym.

The Honourable Dennis King, Premier of Prince Edward Island and Minister responsible for Acadian and Francophone Affairs, issued a statement on the occasion of Acadian Remembrance Day. The Honourable Dennis King is also a member of the Ministers’ Council on the Canadian Francophonie (MCCF) since his swearing in on May 9, 2019.

City of Sarnia becomes 27th area to be designated under the French Language Services Act. As of November 1, 2024, Ontario government offices located in Sarnia will offer French-language services in accordance with the Act.
This designation is the result of strong local community support and follows a request from the Regroupement des organismes francophones de Sarnia-Lambton and the Centre culturel Joliet, two local francophone organizations.

Since 2016, La Presse has been interviewing Quebec MPs to find out which of their counterparts stand out. This year, Sonia LeBel, the Minister responsible for Canadian Relations and Francophonie, who is also a member of the Ministers’ Council on the Canadian Francophonie (MCCF), was chosen Parliamentarian of the Year.
The Ministers and heads of delegation of the States and Governments that are full members of the Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie (MCF) met this Friday, December 10, 2021, in videoconference, under the chairmanship of Mr. Othman Jerandi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad and current President of the MCF.
As a highlight of this Ministerial Conference, the States and Governments adopted the 2022-2026 Digital Francophonie Strategy, a priority of the International Organization of the Francophonie (IOF).

Québec will take over from France as president of TV5 in 2022 and 2023. The handover of the presidency was highlighted at the meeting of senior officials from TV5’s funding governments, which ends today.
The Government of Québec also announced an investment of $1.6 million over three years to clear the rights to Quebec programs presented on the TV5MONDEplus platform. This new contribution is in addition to recurring contributions from the Government of Quebec, which amount to nearly $6.1 million annually.

The Territorial Strategy for Africa is based on five pillars: the economy, education and post-secondary education, culture, international solidarity and institutional capacity building. It aims to strengthen Québec’s position on the African continent and increase exports and trade.
The Strategy also aims to strengthen ties with the various African diasporas present in Québec, which contribute to the vitality and diversity of our society. It constitutes a true multisectoral bridge between Québec and Africa for the mutual benefit of the Québec and African populations.

The Minister of Justice and Minister responsible for the French Language, Simon Jolin-Barrette, has awarded $1.5 million in financial assistance for a project to promote the French language in Quebec municipalities.

Today, the Advisory Committee on Francophone Affairs of Saskatchewan government submitted two new reports to Legislative Secretary for Francophone Affairs Todd Goudy, who is also a member of the Ministers’ Council on the Canadian Francophonie (MCCF). The reports, entitled Post-Secondary Education and Seniors Services respectively, detail a review and analysis of programs and policies in these sectors to guide the implementation of Saskatchewan’s French Language Services Policy.

As tourism activity resumes around the world, Quebec’s Minister of Tourism, Caroline Proulx, will be in France from November 22 to 24 as part of an economic mission.
