Daniel Qavvik was elected in the general election held on October 25, 2021, to represent the constituency of Hudson Bay in the 6th Legislative Assembly of Nunavut.

Prior to his election, Mr. Qavvik was employed as a Conservation Officer with the territorial Department of Environment. Mr. Qavvik is a graduate of Nunavut Arctic College’s Environmental technology Program.

Mr. Qavvik is a long-time search and rescue volunteer and community harvester.

Daniel and Margaret Qavviq are the proud parents of Daniel, Jacquinta, Madalie, Stella and Rosalinda.

Mr. Qavviq’s personal interests include hunting and other outdoor pursuits.
