His volunteer experience extends to a variety of events including his local ski loppet, Gran Fondo bike race, free store, and annual bridge building competition, as well as with several organizations, including the Yukon Anti-Poverty Coalition, New Year’s Family First Night, and Frostbite Music Festival.

Streicker first attended the University of Saskatchewan where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Geography, and then went to the University of New Brunswick for a Masters in engineering.

He and his wife, Susan, make their home on Marsh Lake, south of Whitehorse. He enjoys kicksledding, hiking, biking, cross country skiing, kayaking, and dancing. You can also find him playing the accordion on Canada Day and involved in the occasional acting performance through Theatre in the Bush.
