The Honourable George Kuksuk was elected in the general election held on October 28, 2013 to represent the constituency of Arviat North-Whale Cove in the 4th Legislative Assembly of Nunavut. Mr. Kuksuk was elected to serve on the Executive Council during the November 15, 2013 proceedings of the Nunavut Leadership Forum and was sworn  into office on November 19, 2013

Prior to his election, Mr. Kuksuk was a businessperson who served as Mayor of Arviat, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Sakku Investments Corporation, Chairperson of the Keewatin Business Development Centre, Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Nunasi Corporation and a member of the Workers’ Compensation Board.

Mr. Kuksuk has been an active volunteer with Arviat Search and Rescue committee, rifle association and snowmobile club.

Mr. Kuksuk has four children: Warren, Priscilla, Harry and Alana.  His personal interests include hunting, fishing, curling and snowmobiling.
