Francophonie canadienne

Canada's French-speaking population of more than 9 million people now extends beyond its origins in Acadia and Quebec to make up a mosaic of some one thousand different accents, backed by the dynamism of Francophone communities from coast to coast and buoyed by the support of millions of Canadians who speak French as a second language. Building on shared objectives, networks are being forged and solid partnerships being developed within Canada’s Francophonie making of Canada a key player in the protection and promotion of the French language, not only in North and South America, but throughout the world.
